Trump Torches GOP Senate Leadership as He Warns ‘Stupidity Always Brings LOSING & DEATH!’

President Donald Trump tore into Republicans in the Senate on Monday morning, demanding Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) keep lawmakers in town to pass the SAVE America Act and nix the filibuster, adding that “stupidity always brings LOSING & DEATH!”

Taking to his Truth Social account, Trump addressed Thune directly:

John Thune should not allow the United States Senate to “leave town” until it passes The Save America Act or, far better still, TERMINATES THE FILIBUSTER, where Republicans can then quickly pass everything they ever dreamed of, including a full and deep throated SAVE AMERICA ACT, the Budget, and the ever looming Debt Ceiling disaster, 1929!

He added: “The Dumocrats will do it on day one, and can’t believe how lucky they got with this Senate leadership. Remember, stupidity always brings LOSING & DEATH! President DJT”

Minutes later, Trump added another post that read: “Whichever Party Terminates the Filibuster FIRST will be the Party that survives and thrives. If the Dumocrats win this race, however, America will rapidly become nothing more than a Third World Nation! President DONALD J. TRUMP”

Thune has maintained he does not believe he has the votes in the Senate to pass the SAVE America Act, which the president has urged Republicans to kill the filibuster in order to get it on his desk.

Late last week, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters that Trump’s “patience is running out.”

“He wants to see as much of the SAVE America Act passed as possible by the August recess,” Leavitt said. “He knows that’s what the American people want to see passed. He was just traveling on the road yesterday, spoke about this, and there was a very loud applause from the people in the audience, the everyday Americans, because voter ID is common sense. They want proof of citizenship in our elections, and the president feels very strongly about that.”

In response, Thune told reporters, “Well maybe [Leavitt] or somebody else ought to get on the phone and get the votes, right?”
