‘Weak, Weak, Weak!’ CNN Data Guru Rips Democrats in Congress as Americans Trust GOP More on Iran

CNN chief data analyst Harry Enten revealed that Americans still trust Republicans more than Democrats when it comes to the war in Iran.

The conflict that began with Operation Epic Fury in late February has proven to be largely unpopular throughout the country.

Despite the leadership of Republican President Donald Trump and a GOP-led Congress, polling has indicated that most people trust Republicans more than their counterparts across the aisle when it comes to the war.

Examining the data during a Monday morning segment, Enten said:

According to CNBC earlier this month, you think, OK, that’s one poll. The Republicans are trusted by two points. But then CBS News comes out yesterday, and what do you see? You see the exact same thing! Trump and the Republicans take the cake. They are trusted by two points. Now, one poll is one thing, but you put the two of them together and you can see that the American people, simply put, are not buying what Democrats are selling on Iran. They still trust Republicans more, even if you look at President Trump’s approval ratings on the subject — and they’re negative too — but yet, Republicans and Trump still are more trusted than Democrats are in Iran.

Enten then revealed that Democrats have actually become less popular as the war has dragged on. Citing polling data from CBS News and The Washington Post/Ipsos, Enten pointed out that Democrats were two points ahead of Republicans on the issue of Iran back in April. At the time of the segment, Democrats had fallen to two points behind.

“The Democratic Party, in the minds of the American public,” Enten continued, “are weak. Weak, weak, to quote the great Tony Blair.”
