Turning Point USA Fans Pose For Selfies in ‘Recreation’ of Tent Where Charlie Kirk Was Killed

A photo-op feature at the Turning Point USA conference in Phoenix, AZ, has sparked damning comments on social media, even from MAGA stalwarts.

MS NOW reporter Brandy Zadrozny explained that some conference goers were expressing their “grief” by lining up to take selfies at a recreation of the tent under which Charlie Kirk was shot and killed in September.

“You can see from behind me, this is a recreation of the tent where Charlie Kirk lost his life at Utah [Valley] University in September, and people are taking selfies with it,” she reported. “You can see all around people are saying, like, ‘For Charlie.’ They’re wearing replicas of the shirt that Charlie Kirk was wearing when he was killed. So there’s that moment.”

Some MAGA supporters denounced the display as being beyond bad taste.

“This is a disgusting and satanic macabre display and creating idols by TPUSA,” wrote self-described MAGA investigative journalist @SwordTruth.

That account reposted an entry by “citizen journalist” @DiligentDenizen who wrote, “There’s something very sick, morbid and dark going on at that organization.”

Conservative commentator @unhealthytruth posted, “Nobody seems to care. Even my own followers don’t think this is weird or disgusting like I do really.”

Another MAGA commentator, @Stillurfvseason, declared, “This is NOT how you honor the memory of one of the goats. I’m not sure what is going on over there but I want nothing to do with it.”

“A most inappropriate display in just 3 short months in my opinion,” wrote MAGA commentator @IWashington.

Pro-Trump account Project Constitution, called the display, “SICK BEYOND WORDS,” continuing, “This isn’t healing – this is straight-up psyop tactics: Reenact the trauma to lock in the narrative, tug heartstrings, and milk emotions for control & donations. Charlie deserved real respect, not this deranged, exploitative circus. Shame on TPUSA. Who’s the sick mind behind turning his death site into a photo op booth?”

They added, “Real America First patriots see through the grift.”

Charlie Kirk’s wife, Erika Kirk, has taken the helm at Turning Point USA since her husband’s death. Authorities charged 22-year old Tyler Robinson with aggravated murder in connection with the shooting.
