WATCH: Fox News Reporter On the Ground in Israel Forced to Take Cover Inside Bomb Shelter During Live Hit
A Fox News correspondent on the ground in Israel was forced to take cover inside a bomb shelter during a live hit Sunday morning.
Reporting from Bat Yam, Israel during Sunday’s edition of Fox & Friends, Fox News foreign correspondent Alex Hogan made off for the shelter after sirens went off nearby.
“We’re getting some sirens right now,” Hogan told her colleagues in the studio. “We’re going to move ourselves to shelter. We’re gonna follow you, but you can stay with us as we continue to move.”
Hogan continued her report for a full minute, as she and her cameraperson made their way to safety. Israeli forces directed Hogan and civilians in the area down a ramp and into a parking garage.
“Right now we’re walking into this underground bunker,” Hogan said. “This appears to be a parking garage. One of the types of areas that would work well because it’s insulated with concrete. This is the kind of area, again, similar to a stairwell or a bomb shelter, is the kind of place that people will need to stay until we get the all clear.”
Hogan went on to detail the warnings she and others in the area received and explained that warnings were sent to cell phones amid a series of Iranian strikes overnight.
“The first alert that we’ve got notified everyone across the country to get close to a shelter,” Hogan said. “And if the sirens did go off in their city, that would mean that their city potentially could be under attack. So the fact that we just heard those sirens and the fact that we’re seeing even soldiers come here to take shelter means that all of Israelis, all of the foreigners, all of tourists that are in Tel Aviv right now need to be taking shelter.”
Hogan lost contact with the Fox & Friends hosts as she made her way further inside the shelter. But the all clear was evidently given shortly thereafter — as Hogan appeared back on air above ground for a live report on Fox News Sunday about 45 minutes later.
