‘Wow!’ Sean Spicer Stuns Co-Hosts by Predicting Darline Graham Loss

Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC) “is going to come out ahead of” Sen. Darline Graham (R-SC) in Tuesday night’s primary, former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said on The Huddle Tuesday.

Graham, Spicer said, is still not polling over 50% and the race between the two is “dead even.”

“They’ve thrown everything out of it. There’s a story in Politico this morning that they’ve spent almost a million dollars on texts, on get out the vote,” Spicer added of Graham’s campaign. “[Rep.] Tim Scott (R-SC) was on Hannity last night saying, ‘I’m behind her,’ President [Donald] Trump’s behind her. They’ve thrown in the kitchen sink, the trash compactor, the faucets, they’ve thrown everything at this race.”

He concluded, “I will say, I think Ralph Norman’s going to come out ahead tonight.”

Republicans will decide who will replace the late Sen. Lindsey Graham in South Carolina Tuesday night. Trump has endorsed Darline, Lindsey’s sister.

“Would I have liked his endorsement? Yeah, I would. But we didn’t, and that’s fine. The people in South Carolina are going to pick their next senator, though,” Norman said in an interview via The New York Times.

Darline’s connection to her brother hasn’t guaranteed an easy race. A video posted on social media Saturday showed her entering into a verbal altercation with a rally attendee who filmed her at a campaign event.

“Is your phone recording this?” Darline asked the woman. She responded, “Yes, because, I mean, this is a political event. There’s always phones recording. So, you’re a politician. You know the drill.”

Darline answered, “It kinda does bother me that you’re recording me — I’m being honest — without my permission.” A staffer ended the conversation between the women.

Scott told Meet the Press host Kristen Welker Sunday that Darline is “the real deal” despite a gaffe during which she admitted, “I’m not, on national security– I’m not that informed on national security, so – but I do support the military.”

He added, “Highly qualified, incredibly competent, ready for prime time. She’s ready to tackle the issues of affordability for the American people, and she’s ready to serve the great state of South Carolina in the United States Senate. I ask every Republican in South Carolina, vote Darline Graham on Tuesday.”
