Adam Carolla Absolutely Loses It Over Trump’s ‘No Tax on Tips’ Plan: ‘Tax the S**t Out of Them!’
Adam Carolla is not a fan of President Donald Trump’s “no tax on tips” plan, launching into a heated rant where he accused people who earn tips of “hurting humanity.”
On The Adam Carolla Show this week, Carolla made his feelings about tipping culture and workers who earn tips crystal clear:
There’s jobs where nobody tips like, you know, you work behind the grill at a McDonald’s, I work behind the grill, I never got a fucking tip. So you’re just some hot chick [that] walks around, drops off drinks, or there’s a bottle of wine, and the bottle of wines is $300. You’re just getting tipped on that versus a bottle wine that’s $18 or $31. Same bottle, same cork, same thing, same whatever. Fuck you, tax the shit out of them. Tax those tips. It’s free fucking money. Why do you guys need more free money?
Carolla boiled down workers earning tips to people “either serving booze or sucking dick.” He also mentioned blackjack dealers at one point.
“You don’t have a skill. We don’t need you. You’re just bringing people shit,” the conservative comedian said. “You don’t have a skill. I don’t care. You’re bringing people food. That’s not a skill. You’re making a drink, or you’re giving a rub and tug, or whatever you’re doing. If you’re in a business that gets tips, you’re probably hurting humanity.”
Carolla, who worked in construction for years before his comedy career took off, added he doesn’t how people who are typically tipped earn it more than others in more skilled professions.
“You don’t tip the electrician that comes to your house, you don’t tip the guy at the Home Depot, gets the rolling ladder and goes up a story and, you know, measuring off anchor chain for you and cuts it and wraps it and puts the thing on it and hands it to you, no tip for him,” he said. “No tip! There’s no tip for cops or firemen. I did construction my entire life, I never got a fucking tip! But, but you bring me booze at an airport, we gotta tip you out?”
