‘Do Your F*cking Job!’ Chuck Todd Drops F-Bombs in Meltdown Over Senate ‘Cowards’ Confirming Todd Blanche

Former Meet the Press moderator Chuck Todd absolutely lost it at the “freakin’ cowards” in the Senate in a profanity-laced tirade slamming GOP lawmakers over the confirmation of Todd Blanche as attorney general.

He began Monday’s Chuck Toddcast with what he described as “a lot of motion in Washington, but not a lot of action.”

“The Senate stayed up basically all night Friday into Saturday. And they do these all-nighters so it looks like they’re productive, right? And it’s just like ridiculous. They don’t get sh*t done all year long. They do these two-day workweeks; they’re barely here. They fly in and out. But oh boy, right before recess is about to be announced, they have a 15-hour day. ‘See? We work hard.’ Please.”

Todd went on to say he thought Blanche would be the line that Republicans would not cross, and admitted he was totally off the mark.

“I was wrong about this one. I really thought there was enough spinal fluid left, and enough Republican senators, that Todd Blanche would be the bridge too far, that they would finally learn to say no. So, yes, I really thought Lucy was going to hold the football. And I went and thought I was actually going to kick that sucker through the goal posts and say, ‘See, I told you there was a line that they would not cross with Todd Blanche.’ Oh, how wrong I was.”

Delving more into the matter, Todd then let loose on the Republicans — and John Cornyn (R-TX) by name — dropping a few F-bombs in the process:

We’ve reached this bizarre place with these Republican elected officials who are cowards. Just freakin’ cowards who know nothing about the actual powers of the Constitution. Senators exercise their constitutional authority. They discover that it works. It worked, and then they tell us there’s nothing they can do about it. Yes there is. Do your f*cking job! I’m sorry to curse. I don’t like to just do it. Sometimes nobody pays attention to anything else. “Look, Chuck Todd told John Cornyn to do his f*cking job.” That’s the job, and once Blanche is confirmed, your leverage is gone!

The Blanche vote, conducted just before 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, capped weeks of drama as Cornyn and Thom Tillis (R-NC) opposed Blanche’s nomination at the committee level, before eventually folding.
