WATCH: Barstool Host Torches His Boss Dave Portnoy Amid Kimmel Debacle — Takes a Shot at New Show’s Brutal Ratings

Barstool Sports host Kirk Minihane doubled down in his trashing of Barstool founder Dave Portnoy amid the ongoing Jimmy Kimmel saga.

Last week, ABC announced Kimmel was suspended for comments made about the killing of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk. That suspension lasted about a week, with Kimmel making a return to his show Tuesday night.

The suspension received criticism from figures across the political spectrum. Portnoy, however, came out in support of ABC’s decision. That support was met with immediate backlash from a number of Barstool employees — including Minihane.

On Wednesday morning, Portnoy tried to reiterate his point on the Kimmel situation when he said:

Here is my last point on Kimmel. If Kimmel came on and apologized like this the day after his remarks he probably wouldn’t have been suspended. But by all accounts he wanted to double down. Again for the billionth time this isn’t a free speech issue. He works for Mickey Mouse on NETWORK TV. Nobody said he was going to jail. He was dealing with the consequences of making off color jokes about the murder of a guy who meant a ton to a ton of people and blamed it on the very people who love him the most before the body was even cold. So yeah there was outrage that Mickey had to deal with. Then the pendulum swung the other way and they put him back on air. Either way it was never a free speech issue. When you work for somebody else and you offend a ton of people you deal with the consequences. Him framing this as free speech is a joke.

Minihane responded to that tweet on The Kirk Minihane Show, and even dished out a low blow when he took a shot at the dismal ratings on Portnoy’s new Fox Sports show Wake Up Barstool.

“And nobody’s saying that,” Minihane said. “Who the fuck is saying Jimmy Kimmel should go to jail? That’s when Dave loses the plot. Nobody said that. Nobody! It’s a straw man argument! And the government, the fucking head of the FCC, the president of the United States, stepped in; so it is part of the conversation.

“It’s sad seeing Dave like this. It’s sad to see Dave get dominated by [Barstool’s T-Bob Herbert] on television — 4,000 people watching… He’s lost the fucking plot, you know? I don’t even know if the — will Fox even want him on the Saturday thing now? I have no idea. This is sad, sad, sad, sad.”
