Phillies Announcer John Kruk Vents Frustration About Being Locked Out of MLB Account on Air: ‘I Can’t Get Emails!’
The latest on-air musings from Philadelphia Phillies announcer John Kruk involved him wondering why he was locked out of his MLB account.
In the fourth inning of the Phillies’ Thursday game against the Colorado Rockies, the NBC Sports broadcast came back to a frustrated Kruk saying, “This damn thing.” When play-by-play announcer Tom McCarthy asked him what was wrong, Kruk detailed his problem with the account.
Then, as play was going on and Phillies outfielder Nick Castellanos was at bat, the two announcers began troubleshooting the issue:
KRUK: This damn thing.
MCCARTHY: What happened?
KRUK: Forgot —
MCCARTHY: We’re on, by the way. (laughs)
KRUK: Whoops.
MCCARTHY: What — what are you mad at?
KRUK: Well, in between innings, I’m toying with this MLB thing and man, is it just winning.
MCCARTHY: Did you get the password?
KRUK: No, it says I can’t get emails on that email!
MCCARTHY: Right, because you probably have to reset the password.
KRUK: I know, but when I try to reset the password, I put in a new one and it doesn’t do anything!
MCCARTHY: You sure you still have that account?
KRUK: I have no idea. Apparently not.
MCCARTHY: Outside corner, 1-2 for the Phillies.
KRUK: Yeah, I might have to meet with Mike [on] Saturday.
MCCARTHY: If he can — just have him reset the account one more time, and we can change the email, and you’ll be good as gold.
KRUK: Yeah, not looking forward to that.
