Abdul El-Sayed Takes On Trump With Mocking Impression – and a Natalie Harp Name-Drop

Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed ripped President Donald Trump with an impression mocking how the president says his name on Wednesday before dragging White House aide Natalie Harp into the act.

El-Sayed, who has increasingly found himself in Trump’s crosshairs since the Senate Democratic primary, mocked the president over his repeated references to him and attempted pronunciation of his name during a town hall in Farmington Hills.

“Donald Trump, because he can’t resist the red meat, can’t seem to keep my name out of his mouth,” El-Sayed told the crowd. “Habibi, if you can’t say the name, don’t say the name.”

The ex-Wayne County health director then imitated Trump, contorting his face and attempting to pronounce “Abdul.”

Continuing to jab at Trump at the town hall, El-Sayed added: “Why you gotta say it like that, man? It’s creepy.”

But the Dem saved another quip for Harp, the longtime Trump aide whose close relationship with Trump has come under scrutiny in recent weeks.

“You know Natalie’s gonna show him this clip and he’s gonna be so mad,” El-Sayed said.

Harp became a subject of renewed attention after Senator Jon Ossoff (D-GA) raised uproar by name-checking her at a rally of his own a week ago.

Personal letters she allegedly wrote to the president become public, while The Washington Post reported that Harp was among only a small number of White House staffers who accompanied Trump inside a catering truck during his secret departure from a NATO summit in Turkey. Her estranged brother called her proximity to the president “unhealthy” in a New York Times interview.
