CNN’s Keilar Rips Ted Cruz: ‘A Guy Who Spoon-Fed Trump Supporters the Big Lie’ Now Thinks Trump Went Too Far?

Last week on his podcast, Senator Ted Cruz said that Donald Trump engaged in “reckless and irresponsible” rhetoric about the election. These comments were particularly noteworthy how Cruz raised questions of his own about the 2020 election results and objected to the results in Arizona on January 6th. In his statement condemning the violent riots at the Capitol, he continued to defend his actions.

CNN’s Brianna Keilar called out Cruz Tuesday over his comments criticizing Trump after his own actions backing “efforts to undermine a democratic presidential election.”

Cruz said that Trump went too far in saying “it was all stolen everywhere,” but as Keilar remarked that the Texas senator “didn’t seem to mind the ‘reckless and irresponsible’ rhetoric” from Trump before January 6th.

Keilar ripped the senator’s “revisionist history tour” as she recalled his support of challenges to the election multiple times, including when he offered to argue one of those challenges before the Supreme Court.

The CNN anchor mocked Cruz a bit over his podcast before showing the clip of Cruz touting how many Americans polled believe the election was rigged.

“Says a guy who spoon-fed Trump supporters the big lie,” Keilar said, “who helped dig a hole, only to marvel curiously at how deep and dark it is as he stares up at us from the bottom of it insisting he’s not in a hole at all.”
