Fox News Anchor Asks AG Pam Bondi Point Blank if Trump Will Ignore Supreme Court Rulings He Doesn’t Like

Fox News anchor Shannon Bream directed a pointed question at Attorney General Pam Bondi on Sunday when she asked if President Donald Trump might defy the authority of the US Supreme Court if he disagrees with one of its rulings.

“Is there any scenario in which the president gets an order or a final judgment from the Supreme Court in which he doesn’t agree with it and he doesn’t comply?” Bream asked on Fox News Sunday.

Bondi responded: “No, the president is going to comply with the law. He was overwhelmingly elected by an overwhelming majority of the United States citizens to be our commander-in-chief, and that’s what he’s been doing.”

The question and answer came amid mounting legal battles between Trump and his opponents on issues ranging from education funding to foreign aid to slashing government jobs and agencies.

Many of Trump’s opponents have accused the president of plunging the country into a constitutional crisis.

Bondi noted the administration is currently defending itself against more than 170 lawsuits filed since Trump took office in January.

“That should be the constitutional crisis right there,” she claimed. “Fifty injunctions! They’re popping up every single day, trying to control his executive power, trying to control where he believes our tax dollars should be allocated.”

Bream pointed to a recent pair of Supreme Court decisions she said cut both ways for the administration — a 5-4 win Friday night on cuts to the Department of Education and a separate loss on foreign aid.

“How do you think these issues of executive power, when they get to the court ultimately on the merits, will go?” Bream asked. “Because you know the court has told executives no when it comes to things like student loans or recess appointments.”

Bondi said, “I think we’re going to be very successful on all these.”
