James Carville Tips Hat to ‘Old Friend’ Hannity in Fox News Interview: ‘No One Has Been More Relevant and Survived More Longer Than You’
Democratic strategist James Carville praised Fox News host Sean Hannity during an interview on Thursday for his “longevity” on cable news.
After introducing Carville as his “old friend,” Hannity boasted, “I actually, I’m friends with James Carville. How many debates have we done around the country together?”
Carville then responded:
Before we get started and get down to the nitty gritty, I just want to say something. I respect your longevity and your relevance. I may not agree with you, but I’ve seen a lot of pretenders and a lot of contenders come through Fox News over this century, and no one has been more relevant and survived more longer than you have, so hats off to you. Proceed with the questions.
Hannity laughed awkwardly and said, “I don’t know what that means,” before adding, “We’ve also had fun, but we don’t agree. We just don’t.”
“Exactly,” replied Carville.
Carville has appeared as a guest on Hannity’s show for more than a decade, despite his criticisms of Fox News in general and less-than-friendly words for other hosts at the network.
Just this month, Carville told Fox News host Jesse Watters to “take a tampon and shove it right up your ass!” after Watters criticized Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz for mandating that tampons be available in both male and female school bathrooms in Minnesota.
