Raymond Arroyo Returns to Fox News For First Time Weeks After Claiming Black Americans Will Support Trump Over Sneakers

Fox News contributor Raymond Arroyo is set to return to the network tonight after vanishing from airwaves for more than a month.
Best known for his regular evening appearances on The Ingraham Angle, Arroyo suddenly disappeared from Fox in late February after he suggested on air that former President Donald Trump’s new sneakers would help him garner votes from Black Americans in the November election. His absence was first reported by the The Daily Beast.
After facing multi-million dollar judgements against him in New York, Trump released limited-edition golden “Never Surrender” high top sneakers for $399. Arroyo said on air that Black voters would ditch President Joe Biden due to the high price of Trump’s flashy new sneakers.
“This is connecting with Black America because they love sneakers!” Arroyo said on air in February. “They’re into sneakers… this is a big deal, certainly in the inner city. So when you have Trump roll out his sneaker line, they’re like, ‘Wait a minute, this is cool!'”
The clip went viral on X, leading to a number of commentators to condemn the network. He then stopped appearing on Fox News, despite being a network regular.
Arroyo announced Thursday morning via his account on X that he will be joining prime time host Laura Ingraham on her show Friday night. He did not address the controversy.
“Who is ready for some Friday Follies?!? See you TONIGHT on the @IngrahamAngle 7pm E. @FoxNews,” he wrote.
