‘She Liked to Say the Word Dildo’: Ali Velshi Reviews Joy Reid’s Wild Clash with Moms for Liberty Cofounder

MSNBC host Ali Velshi remarked that Moms For Liberty co-founder Tiffany Justice “liked to say the word dildo” on Friday after Justice used the word a number of times during an interview with MSNBC’s Joy Reid.

During the interview, in which Justice defended her organization’s fight to ban sexually explicit books with themes of rape, incest, and sex toys in school libraries, she repeatedly said the word “dildo,” using it four times in the span of just four minutes.

Justice used the word in reference to George M. Johnson’s young adult memoir All Boys Aren’t Blue, which contains scenes of sexual assault, incest, and references to a strap-on dildo.

“In what context is a strap-on dildo acceptable for public school?” Justice questioned during the interview. “Tell me what the context around the strap-on dildo or the rape of a minor child by a teacher [is]?”

After Reid told Justice that she was “not an expert,” Justice replied, “I don’t have to be an expert to know that dildos aren’t appropriate for public school.”

A few minutes later, Justice suggested, “Maybe we could just put all the books with all the graphic sexual content, the dildos, the rape, the incest– let’s do a backroom. Let’s put a curtain up in the library like they used to do at video stores.”

Following the interview, Velshi told Reid, “I took notes. I’ve never taken a note of an interview in my life, but there was so much to keep up with there.”

He remarked, “She liked to say the word ‘dildo.’ Said that a lot.”
