WATCH: Trump Casually Suggests Up to 15,000 Troops Could Be Sent to the Border
President Donald Trump today casually just threw out more numbers for how many troops could be sent to the border because of the migrant caravan.
Trump first dismissed the idea he’s “fear-mongering” about this issue, saying, “The Democrats have let immigration in our country get out of control with their horrible––not allowing us to have any votes to get passage. We need Democrat votes to change the immigration laws.”
And then he casually threw out the numbers:
“As far as the caravan––which is very dangerous, you see what’s been happening––as far as the caravan is concerned, our military is out. We have about 5,000––we’ll go up to anywhere between 10 and 15,000 military personnel, on top of border patrol, ICE, and everybody else at the border. Nobody’s coming in. We’re not allowing people to come in.”
The announcement of 5,200 troops being deployed to the border was announced on Monday, and just yesterday one general said that number would rise, but did not throw out the numbers that Trump did today.
