‘Who’s Pinky Herman?’ Jimmy Fallon Mocks Trump’s Botched Jab at Jon Ossoff
Jimmy Fallon mocked President Donald Trump’s botched attempt at trashing Senator Jon Ossoff (D-GA) during a Wednesday night speech in Georgia, when he nicknamed the lawmaker “Pinky Herman.”
Trump was speaking at a high school in Marietta on Wednesday to promote his new Trump Accounts savings program for children when he veered off on a tangent, ripping the state’s Democratic senator:
Georgia is a state that believes in common sense, and yet, your terrible Senator Jon Ossoff, he’s terrible. And the Democrats, in Congress, are voting with the communists every single time. They are afraid of the communists you look at it. Now, I, I fought Ossoff before as you know, and we won, we had a great success against this guy. He reminds me of Pinky Herman. Did you ever see Pinky Herman?
The apparent attempt to reference the zany children’s television character Pee-wee Herman instead landed as “Pinky Herman,” prompting Fallon on Thursday night to imagine Ossoff responding in the voice of the late Paul Reubens’ famous character.
“In response, Jon Ossoff was like, [imitating Pee-wee Herman] ‘I know you are, but what am I?'” Fallon joked during Thursday’s edition of The Tonight Show, dancing around the stage repeating the punchline.
The Tonight Show host then piled on: “Pinky Herman sounds like the guy who ripped him off on the Reflecting Pool.”
He followed that with another riff imagining Trump confusing the names of other well-known fictional characters: “Trump said, [imitating Trump] ‘He’s one of the greats, but my all-time favorites are Mikey Mouse, and Sponge Boob was great.'”
“You got to give Trump credit, he mispeaks in ways nobody ever thought possible,” he wrapped up.
