‘The Anger, The Pain’: Biden Slams ‘Appalling Scale’ of Hamas Attack On Israel, Vows to ‘Stand With Israel’

President Joe Biden addressed the nation from the White House Tuesday to declare, “We stand with Israel.”

Biden called the actions by Hamas, “pure, unadulterated evil.” He continued:

The brutality of Hamas, the bloodthirstiness, brings to mind the worst, the worst rampages of ISIS. This is terrorism. But sadly for the Jewish people it’s not new. This attack has brought to the surface painful memories and the scars left by millennia of anti-semitism and genocide of the Jewish people. So, in this moment we must be crystal clear. We stand with Israel. We stand with Israel.

And we will make sure it has what it needs to take care of its citizens, defend itself, and respond to this attack. There’s no justification for terrorism. There’s no excuse. Hamas does not stand for the Palestinian people’s right to dignity and self-determination. Its stated purpose is the annihilation of the state of Israel and the murder of Jewish people.

Hamas militants stormed into Israel Saturday where they slaughtered hundreds of civilians including women, children, and the elderly. They also raped women and took many hostages. The death toll is feared to be over 1,000 killed and taken hostage, including Americans.
