Trump Attacks Reporter Over NEW Signalgate Bombshell — Tells Him ‘Find Something New’

President Donald Trump scolded a reporter for “bringing up Signal again” amid new bombshell allegations against Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth for misuse of the Signal app to discuss attack plans with his family.

The political media world was stunned in March when Jeffrey Goldberg dropped a blockbuster report that revealed he was (apparently inadvertently) included in a Signal text chain in which the Principals Committee discussed plans to strike Houthi rebels in Yemen — strikes that shortly came to pass. The story dominated headlines for weeks, but Trump stuck by Hegseth.

This week, a second Signalgate bombshell report dropped, this time revealing Hegseth may have shared details of a sensitive attack against Yemen in a second Signal app group chat with his family last month. As reports swirl that Hegseth is on the chopping block, Trump is maintaining support for him in public.

Trump spoke to reporters several times Monday during the White House Easter Egg Roll festivities. In one exchange, he told reporters “It’s just fake news. They just bring up stories. It sounds like disgruntled employees.”

But in another brief gaggle, Trump attacked a reporter for bringing up the scandal, and even after he was informed these were new allegations, claimed “that’s an old one”:

REPORTER: Mr. President, do you remain confident in Pete Hegseth? Do you remain confident in Pete Hegseth?

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: Why do you even ask a question like that? We have recruitments at– that’s at an time high, the spirit in the armed forces is fantastic. Great confidence.

REPORTER: President Trump we saw your message–.

REPORTER: (INAUDIBLE) Secretary Hegseth using Signal to discuss those military plans–.

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: Are you bringing up Signal again? I thought they gave that up two weeks ago.

REPORTER: No, it’s a new report this weekend that he used it in a separate chat that included some family members–

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: It’s all– It’s all uh– just the same old stuff from the media, because that’s an old one. Try finding something new.
