Behold Mediaite’s Uncanny Political Media Doppelgängers
Mika Brzezinski and Robin Wright
This one hit us like a ton of bricks here at Mediaite. What a great doppelgänger! Both Mika Brzezinski and Robin Wright’s character Claire Underwood are powerful and influential voices in politics, and their similarities are pretty uncanny. The Morning Joe host was recently named to Mediaite’s most influential list for 2015, and just weeks ahead of the House of Cards season 4 debut, is there a better time to point out this obvious connection? Anderson Cooper and John Slattery
Anderson Cooper and John Slattery look pretty alike in spite of being very, very different! Cooper was born to heiress Gloria Vanderbilt in New York City and Slattery was born to a leather merchant in Boston. Looking at them, though, you’d never guess that they didn’t grow up together as twins (or cousins, if Cooper’s wearing those glasses of his). We are hoping that Slattery will appear on Cooper’s nightly show sometime soon just so we can confirm with complete confidence that they’re not, in fact, the same person.
Eric Bolling and David Hasselhoff
Don’t hassle the Hoff, don’t bully the Bolling. Fox News’ Eric Bolling is one of the top contributors to the network, and just take a look at how much he resembles actor David Hasselhoff. And after all, Bolling is sort of the Mitch Buchannon of The Five if you think about it, and although we can’t be sure, there’s a good chance that Bolling takes every opportunity to remove his shirt whenever possible. It’s unclear exactly where The Hoff falls politically, though he did take the opportunity to present some hawkish right-of-center military viewpoints that Bolling might love; The Daily Star reported that Hasselhoff was prepared to fight ISIS “like Rambo”.
Alex Wagner and Zoe Kravitz
MSNBC’s Alex Wagner is a fan-favorite for the left, to be sure, but who knew just how much she resembled Lenny Kravitz’s daughter? Not always of course; Zoe Kravitz usually rocks long hair that we can’t even imagine seeing Wagner rocking. Regardless, Kravitz’s performance in Divergent is a dead ringer for Wagner, who is a frequent contributor for the network and was also on our list of Sexiest in TV News for 2015.
Stephen Colbert and Bob Saget
Hey, we’ll admit that we are hardly the first ones to identify this doppelgänger, but that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t deserve a spot on our list of awesome lookalikes. Full House‘s Bob Saget looks exactly like The Late Show host and heir to the Letterman throne Stephen Colbert. Although the men are eight years apart in age (can you guess who’s older?), it’s tough to deny they easily could be brothers. Sure, it’s relatively low-hanging fruit in the doppelgänger world, but who are we to scoff at the voice of the people? It doesn’t appear as if Saget has yet been a guest on The Late Show, but seeing the Full House alum come out and sit behind the desk would make for a pretty good late night bit.
