Santa Fe High School in Santa Fe, TX has been put on lockdown due to reports of an active shooter on the scene.
Details on the situation are currently unclear, but preliminary indications suggest that emergency services were called at around 8:00 A.M. after the school’s fire alarm bells went off. It isn’t clear at the moment how many people have been injured.

Students are currently being evacuated from the school, and some of them have told law enforcement and media outlets that they heard gun shots.

UPDATE – 11:53 a.m EST: Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzales gave a press update where he said that a second student has been detained for questioning. The prime suspect in custody is believed to be a student, and there might be up to 10 people dead.

UPDATE – 12:46 p.m EST: The Houston Chronicle reports that the gunman who attacked the school was armed with an AR-15 style rifle, a pistol, and a shotgun. Local law enforcement has also confirmed the reports that possible IEDs and pipe bombs have been discovered around the school.
