Cenk Uygur Does Something ‘Totally Unexpected’ and Credits Fox’s Brian Kilmeade for ‘Tough’ Pompeo Interview
On The Young Turks, unlikely credit was given to Fox & Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade for giving tough questions to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo about the death of Jamal Khashoggi and the administration’s handling of the Saudi Crown Prince’s involvement.
It was unlikely in that praise went to FNC from TYT, and unlikely in that Fox grilled Trump’s Secretary of State in the first place.
And that is the angle on which anchor Ana Kasparian introduced the segment for TYT.
Mike Pompeo “goes on Fox & Friends thinking that he’s going to get a softball interview, because, let’s face it, we all would think he’s going to get a softball interview,” she said, “but they actually asked him some tough questions.”
After a clip from the show and some back and forth, founder and host Cenk Uygur joined Kasparian as they broke down the interview.
“I’m going to do something totally unexpected, which is give credit to Brian Kilmeade,” said Uygur. “Because, he actually did a really great thing there, other than holding him accountable three different times in the interview.”
“At the end there, [Pompeo] said ‘we disagree with some portions of–‘ or ‘some of the reporting on that has not been accurate,’ and Kilmeade did a good follow-up question there of saying ‘but wait, when they said they have a high confidence that bin Salman ordered it, was that part inaccurate?’,” said Uygur.
