Clinton Continues Using Trump’s Slights Against Former Miss Universe to Smear Him
Alicia Machado has seen a lot of press in the last 24 hours. Hillary Clinton dropped her name at the debate while chiding Donald Trump for being a misogynist. Last May, Machado made brief waves by sharing her story of mistreatment by Trump with Inside Edition. The former Miss Universe revealed that he had called her “Miss Piggy” and “Miss Housekeeping.” When Clinton brought up the incidents last night at the debate, she said, “Donald, she has a name.”
As she was relaying Machado’s story, Trump was demanding, “Where did you find this?” repeatedly.
Clinton went on to feature Machado on her Twitter after the debate while Trump brought the former beauty queen up on Fox & Friends this morning unprompted. He accused her of having an attitude problem and said her weight gain was a “problem.”
In response to that, Clinton’s team rolled out their video featuring Machado again. Watch it here:

The video is getting a lot of mileage. The first time her team tweeted it, it got nearly 50,000 retweets. This second dissemination is also gaining traction on the microblogging site.
In it, Machado is shown discussing the way Trump treated her after she won his Miss Universe pageant. When she gained weight, he invited reporters to watch her work out without telling her. She also claimed she was never paid for the ads she did after winning and stated that because Trump ridiculed her weight, she developed eating disorders.
She ended her video segment as Clinton ended the segment on her last night: Machado explained that she is a citizen now and she is planning to vote in November.
