CNN’s Joan Walsh Spars With Pro-Gun Parkland Survivor Kyle Kashuv: ‘Good Luck Handling Your Stress’

Joan Walsh, a national affairs correspondent for The Nation and political contributor for CNN, exchanged heated rhetoric with anti-gun control activist and Parkland student Kyle Kashuv, after the teenager posted screenshots of her “likes” on the social media platform.
The posts Walsh had engaged with stemmed from an account claiming to be the father of another Marjory Stoneman Douglas student, who was killed in the shooting. The father condemned Kashuv for his controversial rhetoric in a tweet Walsh “liked,” along with another message of support for the father.
“Just so everyone knows, @CNN would NEVER take a side,” Kashuv wrote Sunday, tagging Walsh.

“Wow @KyleKashuv are you really policing who “likes” tweets from a grieving Parkland father who lost his daughter?” Walsh responded almost immediately. “Good luck handling your stress, Kyle.”

Walsh was quickly the target of Kashuv’s followers on Twitter, who attacked her for “bullying” a teenage student. The tweets echoed sentiments users on the platform have felt toward Fox News host Laura Ingraham after she mocked another Parkland student, David Hogg, for not getting into his top colleges.
“Wow, @JoanWalsh, are you really attacking a Parkland student who also is grieving the loss of his class-mates while defending the one you prop up as the know-all expert on everything?” one user wrote. “But he is a survivor, that means hands off no matter what they say or do, doesn’t it? Or does that only apply to the anti-gun crowd?” wrote another.

Joan is a coward! She blocks everyone she doesn’t agree with but before she does she attacks them! She’s exactly what is wrong with the so called journalism nowadays? #DisgustingJoan

Shortly after the two sparred, Walsh tweeted, “Wow my mentions are now a sewer of NRA trolls and MAGA bots. Happy Easter and/or Passover everybody!” Meanwhile, Kashuv continued engaging with users in her mentions.

I guess attacking the MSDHS victims is only wrong if it’s the students that represent your agenda. How biased & hypocritical thou art @joanwalsh

But he is a survivor, that means hands off no matter what they say or do, doesn't it? Or does that only apply to the anti-gun crowd?
