CBS teased part of Anthony Scaramucci‘s highly-anticipated interview with Stephen Colbert, where the former White House communications director was asked if President Trump hired him specifically to force out Reince Priebus and Sean Spicer.
Colbert started things off by asking The Mooch to explain that viral photo where he was shown in a stare-down with the former White House chief of staff. Afterwards, Colbert cut to the chase and asked “were you brought in just to get rid of him and Sean Spicer?”
“Obviously, there’s no love lost there,” Scaramucci responded. “The weird thing about my relation with Reince is we were actually pretty good friends when I was a political donor writing checks to the RNC.”
When asked who he thinks is leaking from the White House now that Priebus is gone, Scaramucci re-stated his suspicions of Steve Bannon. Scaramucci re-ignited his feud with Bannon on Sunday, and Colbert asked him if he wants Bannon to be fired.
“If it was up to me, he would be gone,” Scaramucci responded.
