Actress Emmy Rossum Goes Off on Anti-Semitic Threats She’s Received Post-Election: ‘NOT OK’
Golden Globe-nominated actress Emmy Rossum has spoken out after receiving a number of anti-Semitic threats on Twitter.
Trump supporters are sending me messages threatening to send me & my “ilk” to the gas chambers & writing hashtags like “#sieg hiel”. NOT OK.

Telling anyone to “get ready for the trains” in reference to WWII is disgusting & offensive.Reporting you to twitter is not enough.Back off.

I would NEVER make something like this up. I couldn’t. For those of you who are shaming me for bringing attention to it, go read his feed

No matter WHO you voted for, I don’t care, THIS is not okay. “You will be seeing a train shortly” pic.twitter.com/cvQP6Fegz4

This doesn’t scare me. It doesn’t cause me nightmares. I find it sad to recognize that this kind of vicious underbelly was there all along.

The incident is reminiscent of the ones involving terrifying threats leveled at Julia Ioffe, Hadas Gold, and other reporters during the election season. Similarly to Ioffe and Gold, Rossum is specifically reporting that the violent anti-Semitism is coming from Trump supporters.
The account of the person who sent the photo of what appears to be a concentration camp labeled “TRUMP” and warned Rossum to watch out for “a train” has been suspended by Twitter.
