It’s been a dramatic series. And even when Cleveland led 2-0, it seemed like it was destined to go the distance.
Tonight, the New York Yankees and the Cleveland Indians meet in a decisive Game 5 of the American League Division Series — with the winner moving on to take on the Houston Astros, and the loser going home.
The Yankees held serve in the Bronx, after dropping the first two games of the series in Cleveland. An outstanding performance from Game 3 starter Masahiro Tanaka was followed up by a strong offensive performance in Game 4. And now the Yankees have a chance to close the deal Wednesday night.
However, they’ll have to do it in Cleveland — where the Indians have been fantastic. Still, they looked lost at times during the games in New York. And, of course, they were extremely fortunate to win Game 2, in which they trailed 8-3 at one point. Can they get back to their winning ways at home in what is a do-or-die spot?
Ace Corey Kluber gets the ball for Cleveland, while veteran and former Indians pitcher C.C. Sabathia takes the hill for the Yankees.
First pitch is at 8:08 p.m. ET. The game will air on Fox Sports 1. Matt Vasgersian and John Smoltz have the call. The action can be streamed free with a cable subscription on pc, cell phone, or tablet via Fox Sports Go — which can be downloaded via the iTunes store, and the Google Play store.
