‘Like An Ashy Knees Anonymous Meeting, There Were No White People’: Trevor Noah Slams WH’s Terror List
Two days ago, Donald Trump insisted that the media is deliberately failing to cover terrorist attacks, which earned him rebukes all over the place. In response, the White House put out a strange list of terror attacks that they felt were underreported. The list was riddled with typos and included an attack that the LA Times won a Pulitzer for covering so thoroughly. Obviously, the list, too, was slammed.
Last night, Trevor Noah took on the list, too. His qualm wasn’t that no one in the administration seemed to run the document through spellcheck before sending it out or even that it’s outrageous to claim that there was no coverage of attacks that newspapers received Pulitzers for covering. Instead, he zeroed in on the fact that the White House didn’t include any white terrorists like Dylann Roof or Robert Dear.
After joking that the list looked like an “Ashy Knees Anonymous meeting,” he pointed out that the administration has remained silent about the recent shooting at a mosque in Quebec since it was released that the shooter was not, in fact, Muslim.
“So here we are, people, once again learning that when a Muslim person commits terror, it’s part of a deadly conspiracy, but when white extremists commit acts of terror over again, well, that’s merely a continuing series of isolated events,” he said sarcastically. “It’s like saying, ‘I’m not addicted to bath salts. That happened one time… on 100 consecutive days!'”
