During his trip to Philadelphia this weekend, Pope Francis appeared at the Festival of Families. The event was headlined by none other than Mark Wahlberg and a whole host of celebrities from Aretha Franklin to Jim Gaffigan performed in the presence of His Holiness.
But one of the most amusing moments was when Wahlberg, as he praised a young soloist who performed, revealed that this teenager whispered to him that he loved Ted.
Wahlberg immediately said he told the boy it’s not appropriate, and then turned to the Pope and said, “Holy Father, please forgive me.”
Let’s all just take a moment to take in the fact that an R-rated comedy about a profane talking teddy bear was mentioned in the presence of the Pope.
Wahlberg continued, “I’ve always hoped that the good Lord has a sense of humor when it comes and pertains to the many movies that I’ve made.”
Post in the comments section below if you think there are any other Wahlberg movies he should have asked forgiveness for.
