Schumer Gets Tongue Twisted as He Scolds Fox News Reporter: ‘Louding Even Yeller Than You Used To’

Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) scolded Fox News’s chief Congressional correspondent Chad Pergram during a Capitol Hill press conference on Tuesday.

As Schumer was finishing up his answer to a question about the blockbuster Michigan Democratic Party primary for U.S. Senate, Pergram tried to ask the next question.

“Quiet. You can’t yell that loud,” Schumer said to Pergram in reply.

“You’re louding even yeller than you used to,” Schumer said, getting tongue-tied a bit, as Pergram protested, “Will you call on me too?”

“Well, I call on you. I do. You get your chances,” Schumer added.

During the presser, Schumer was asked about progressive candidate Abdul El-Sayed leading his preferred choice for the Michigan Senate seat Rep. Haley Stevens (D-MI).

“In Michigan, we are going to beat the Republicans. We’re going to take Michigan, and we’re going to win back the Senate,” Schumer said.

“We are going to win Michigan, take back the Senate, and have the majority,” Schumer replied when another reporter pressed if he was comfortable with El-Sayed winning.

“Look, we are a big tent party, and being a big tent party is a strength, not a weakness,” Schumer added when asked how he felt about the rise of the Democratic Socialists of America inside the Democratic Party.
