Mediaite Begins 2010 with Record Breaking Traffic Numbers, the website of, and about the media, continued its unprecedented growth as measured by both unique visitors and page views for January and February of 2010.

In its seventh full month in business, Mediaite broke the symbolic million unique visitors mark in the shortened month of February, with 1.1 million unique visitors and 4.36 million page views. In fact, for the months of January and February, is now averaging just shy of 1 million unique visitors per month.

Including new sister site and Mediaite’s syndicated video content, the network of sites created and owned by Dan Abrams averaged a stunning 5.2 million unique visitors in the month of February according to web traffic site Quantcast.

Mediaite continues to be regularly linked or quoted by the most prestigious media entities as well as by web sites on both sides of the political aisle. Many of its most highly trafficked stories were those broken by Mediaite including news of the massive buyout offer at ABC News, Beyonce singing for the Qaddaffi family and Hot Air blogs’s acquisition by Salem Communications. Other top stories included those on the Leno-O’Brien late night drama and cable news ratings.

The sites have been fortunate to attract the interest of top sponsors including Bing, The New York Times, Showtime, CNN, Career Builder, IFC, The Economist, The Ladders, Equinox Gym, Sobieski Vodka, Acura, and Aston Martin, among many others.

Abrams said, “These numbers are multiples of what we predicted at this point, particularly considering what small staffs we maintain. It also means it’s the perfect time to launch our two new sites, on March 15 and shortly thereafter.”
