Mitch McConnell’s Biographer: Republicans Are ‘Beyond Redemption,’ ‘Dems Only Viable’ Option
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s biographer John David Dyche has completely abandoned the GOP, tweeting that he switched his voter registration to Democrat today after realizing they are the “only viable” option.
“Changed from Republican to Independent when GOP nominated Trump. After much reflection changed to Democrat today,” Dyche tweeted this afternoon. “Republicans beyond redemption. Dems only viable opposition/alternative & have promising young leaders. Want to participate in KY gubernatorial primary.”

Dyche, who has previously written for the conservative Weekly Standard, also included a photo of his official voter registration form ready to be mailed with a stamp depicting late Democrat President John F. Kennedy.
Recently, the author posted several tweets detailing his issues with the present day Republican Party:
Kentucky Republicans, what’s your favorite part of Trumpist “conservatism”? Appeasing Putin after Russia attacked our election? Trillion dollar deficits? Trade wars to hurt ag, autos & bourbon? Hush money to porno mistresses? Calling neo-Nazis & white supremacists “fine people”?

Caging children? Family separations? Mocking POWs & Gold Star parents? Constant lying? Criminal convictions & guilty pleas? Insulting allies while praising butchers like Kim Jong Un? Cruelty, misogyny & racism? Tax fraud? Which part of Trumpist “conservatism” makes you proudest?
