Nine People Believed Dead After Private Jet Crashes in Ohio


A private jet crashed into an apartment building in Akron, Ohio today. Nine people were aboard the plane and it’s believed they all died in the crash.

According to the Akron Beacon-Journal, the owner of the Hawker H25 jet, Augusto Lewkowicz, confirmed there were two pilots and seven passengers on board, but would not release their names because, he said, “I owe responses to the family members first.”

He said there appeared to be nothing wrong with the jet, but authorities today said it crashed through an apartment building and setting off a big fire before going into an embankment. The building occupants were not inside at the time.

Neighbors heard a “loud explosion,” and one federal source told ABC News there was some kind of mechanical failure.
