So far Ashley Judd‘s Senate campaign against Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is only an unconfirmed rumor. But that isn’t stopping Karl Rove‘s American Crossroads super PAC from running attack ads against her.
The group released the ad, titled “Ashley’s Story,” on YouTube today and is reportedly putting a $10,000 online ad buy behind it. There are no plans as of now to run it on TV.
The 60 second spot hits Judd on several levels, including her “commitment” to President Obama and Obamacare, the time she called Tennessee “home,” her self-defined “radical” nature and a quote from her own grandmother calling her a “Hollywood liberal.”
The voice-over sums it up at the end of the ad, saying “Ashley Judd: an Obama-following, radical Hollywood liberal, who’s right at home here in Tennessee, I mean Kentucky.”
Rove and his organization apparently views the popular Judd as a liability, as demonstrated by this attempt to define her early as everything Kentucky conservatives hate.
