Trump Praises FEMA Director as Hurricane Harvey Batters Texas: ‘You Are Doing a Great Job’

This morning, after Hurricane Harvey had made landfall in Texas, leaving thousands without power and dumping what could be a catastrophic amount of rain on the coastal areas of the state, President Donald Trump took to Twitter to deliver some messages.

One of those tweets was directed at Federal Emergency Management Agency Administrator Brock Long:

The president also stated that he was monitoring the situation carefully and leaving nothing to chance:

As of this publication, roughly 200,000 people are without power in the area hit by the storm. Harvey hit landfall as Category 4 storm but has since been downgraded to a Category 1 as it moves further inland. Corpus Christi looks to be relatively unscathed but other cities and towns have reported devastating property damage.

Also, due to the amount of rain still expected to fall over the next few days, flooding is a major concern.
