Trump Reportedly ‘Infuriated’ With Nikki Haley’s Comments About His Accusers
A new report indicates that Donald Trump is not happy that his Ambassador to the United Nations has diverged from the White House’s talking points on the president’s alleged history of sexual misconduct.
On Sunday, Nikki Haley gave an interview on CBS where she said that women should feel secure enough in American society to be able speak out against inappropriate behavior. In terms of the women who have come forward with claims against Trump, Haley said these accusers “should be heard.”
“They should be heard, and they should be dealt with. And I think we heard from them before the election. And I think any woman who has felt violated or felt mistreated in any way, they have every right to speak up.”
The Associated Press released an extensive piece tonight which explores how the accusations against the president are still a significant political factor throughout Washington. The article also cites sources who state that Haley’s comments did not go over well with her boss.
Haley’s comments infuriated the president, according to two people who are familiar with his views but who spoke on condition of anonymity because they aren’t authorized to speak publicly about private conversations. Trump has grown increasingly angry in recent days that the accusations against him have resurfaced, telling associates that the charges are false and drawing parallels to the accusations facing Republican Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore.
Earlier today, several of Trump’s accusers spoke out about the inappropriate behavior they experienced during their past interactions with the president. Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders dismissed their claims by saying that the country cast a verdict on Trump by electing him president in spite of his alleged acts.
