Behold the flipside of “watching the watchmen”: Dashcam footage from a traffic stop in Palm Beach County, Fla., reveals the kind of stupidity police officers sometimes have to deal with.
“You are being cited for speeding,” says the PBC sheriff’s deputy, before handing a copy of the citation to the driver. “This explains what your options are…”
“You know what?” the driver, who was doing 51 miles per hour in a school zone marked at 20. “No wonder you people get shot! You’re absolute assholes.”
Sure, the subject videotaping police activity, whether official or not, is a rather testy one at the moment. All you have to do is search for Eric Garner‘s name, and you’ll find a veritable smorgasbord of copies of the cellphone footage depicting his death at the hands of arresting officer Daniel Pantaleo‘s chokehold.
This and countless other examples have been tied to the subsequent murders of several cops, something that many have approved of, as our own Joe Concha noted last December. Yet when the deputy depicted in the video below is mouthed off to by the woman he pulled over, he says “Okay, thank you ma’am. I appreciate that. Drive safe.”
Balls of gentlemanly steel, sir.
