President Donald Trump will deliver remarks to military personnel and their families at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland today. The event is scheduled to start at 3:35 PM ET.
It has been a pretty busy week for the White House and the president. He recently traveled to Florida to survey the damage done by Hurricane Irma and took that opportunity to tell reporters his thoughts on some hot-button topics, such as his recent dealmaking with Democrats and his belief that he’s been vindicated for his “both sides” Charlottesville remarks.
As for today, Trump was quite active on Twitter, tossing off some commentary about this morning’s terrorist incident in London, chain migration and ESPN, calling on the Worldwide Leader to apologize to him for anchor Jemele Hill referring to him as a “white supremacist.” We also saw the president make an appearance on the White House lawn this morning as he congratulated 11-year-old Frank Giaccio for a job well done after Giaccio cut the grass.
While the president is supposed to just be addressing the military families this afternoon, it will be interesting to see if he uses the appearance to hit on some of the other issues surrounding his administration, as he’s done in the past.
