Attacks on RFK Jr.-Aaron Rodgers Ticket Shows Dems and Media ‘Allies’ Are ‘Scared’, Fox News Contributor Argues
Fox News contributor Byron York argued that the freak out over independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s consideration of New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers to be his running mate showed that Democrats and their “media allies” were “scared” that Kennedy might sink President Joe Biden’s reelection bid on America’s Newsroom Thursday.
In an appearance on Fox Wednesday night, Kennedy said he “really” likes Rodgers because “we want somebody young” as well as because Rodgers is “battle-tested.”
“He’s stood up. He’s been hammered by the press, stood up for things we believe in. I like that part of his character,” submitted Kennedy. “My father used to say one of the duties of living as a citizen of democracy is to maintain a constant posture of skepticism toward authority. And I think Aaron’s shown that. He’s also somebody who I think will help me get the country healthy again.”
Rodgers is well-known for his skepticism of the Covid-19 vaccines and according to a report from CNN, has also privately pushed a conspiracy theory about the 2012 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut.
York chalked the criticism of Rodgers up to fear on Thursday, telling Bill Hemmer and Dana Perino that “RFK Jr. is an interesting candidate and he’s talking about some interesting choices; either Aaron Rodgers or Jesse Ventura, the former wrestler and governor of Minnesota.”
“Now, if you’ve noticed, if this was a trial balloon that RFK Jr. set up, it has really been shot at a lot among Democrats, among their allies in the media who were just absolutely trashing this,” he continued. “And I think the subtext of that — whatever Aaron Rodgers’s, you know, qualifications to be vice president are — the subtext of that is they’re really scared that a RFK Jr. candidacy is going to hurt Joe Biden more than it hurts Donald Trump. After all, RFK is really a Democrat. He’s a Kennedy Democrat. And his presence on the ballot is probably going to hurt the Democrat more than it hurts Donald Trump.”
