Former House Democrat Insists on MSNBC Trump Means ‘Bloodbath’ Comment ‘Literally’ After Ex-Pres Dismisses ‘Fake News’ Outrage

Former New York congressman Max Rose insisted Donald Trump was speaking “literally” when referring to a “bloodbath” for the country if he’s not elected following the former president accusing the “fake news media” of blowing his comment out of proportion.

Trump wrote on Truth Social on Monday that the media “fully understood” what he meant when he used the term “bloodbath” at a rally. The former president clarified that he was specifically referring to the automobile industry in the United States.

Rose joined Ana Cabrera on Monday and claimed he fears potential political violence in the fall.

“There’s substantive precedent for all of this and that I think is the point here. Look, the Biden campaign is going to be at a perpetual fork in the road,” the Democratic said. “Do you focus on the craziness that is Donald Trump, the psychosis that is him, or do you try to just completely ignore it and focus solely on your own record? Now That record is substantive and so important, but I really truly hope the Biden campaign doesn’t ignore what is being said over and over again.”

Rose argued Trump is to be taken “seriously” and “literally,” including his “bloodbath” comment.

“We can’t overly learn the lesson of 2016 where after Hillary Clinton lost everyone said she focused too much on Donald Trump. The truth is no one believed that it was possible that this guy meant what he was saying, but Now after seeing the chaos, corruption, incompetency and hate-filled agenda that was four years of the Trump administration culminating on January 6th, we know he means what he says,” the former congressman said. “And It is imperative that we remind the American people, hammer it home over and over again that when he says bloodbath, he means it literally. This guy is to be taken seriously as well as literally.”

While speaking in Dayton, Ohio over the weekend, Trump railed against electric vehicles and promised tariffs on vehicles from Mexico.

“If you’re listening, President Xi,” Trump said. “Those big monster car manufacturing plants that you’re building in Mexico right now, and you think you’re going to get that, you’re going to not hire Americans and you’re going to sell the cars as now we’re going to put a 100% tariff on every single car that comes across the line, and you’re not going to be able to sell those guys if I get elected.”

“Now, if I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath for the whole — That’s going to be the least of it,” Trump added. “It’s going to be a bloodbath for the country.”
