House Republican Tells Fox News Ousted Intel Chair Is So Angry He’s Not Going to Vote For ‘Another F*cking Thing’

Fox News Senior Congressional Correspondent Chad Pergram reported on the fallout Thursday from House Speaker Mike Johnson’s (R-LA) ousting of moderate Rep. Mike Turner (R-OH) as the chair of the House Intelligence Committee and replacing him with a MAGA-aligned member.

“Arkansas Republican Rick Crawford, the new chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, charged with overseeing the nation’s spy programs. House Speaker Mike Johnson ignited a firestorm unceremoniously stripping the intelligence gavel from Mike Turner,” Pergram said as he began his report.

“What was the problem with Mike Turner?” Pergram was then shown asking Johnson earlier.

“There’s no problem with Mike Turner,” replied Johnson, adding the move “doesn’t have anything to do with anybody inside the building here. But we need a reset.”

Pergram explained Johnson’s meaning, saying, “Democrats believe President-elect Trump orchestrated the ouster.”

“House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries defended the Republican chairman, calling Turner’s removal, quote, ‘shameful.’ But Johnson contends the Freedom Caucus or the next president weren’t involved,” Pergram noted, adding:

Turner allies fumed privately, one telling Fox that Johnson treated Turner so badly that he’s, quote, never going to vote for another blanking thing around here again. Some conservatives had problems with Turner after he sounded an alarm about Russia’s nuclear capabilities in space.

Crawford was the most senior GOP member of the intelligence panel. He was passed over to lead the Transportation Committee. Unlike Turner, Crawford opposes sending aid to Ukraine.

Pergram offered some additional context to his reporting on X, expanding on GOP House members’ frustrations with Turner’s ouster and noting the exact expletive used:

“He dragged Mike along,” fumed one senior House Republicans. “It wasn’t a fair process.”

Members of both the Intelligence Committee and rank-and-file Republicans expressed exasperation with Johnson’s decision.

“[Johnson] cost himself some political capital,” said another House Republican.

Another House Republican was more direct.

“Mike’s never going to vote for another f*cking thing around here again,” said one House Republican who asked they not be identified. “He’s mad.”

That’s a problem considering the slim House majority held by Republicans.

NBC News’s Scott Wong also reported on the fury within the GOP over Turner being replaced with a Trump loyalist. Wong quoted an unidentified member of Congress saying, “I think Turner will burn the House down. He will be a no-vote on everything. I mean, he just got totally f—–.”

Turner has not cast a vote in the House since Johnson removed his gavel.
