‘Shame On You, Rashida Tlaib’: Activist Drapes Israeli Over Palestinian Flag Outside Lawmaker’s Office
An Arab-Israeli activist hung flyers of kidnap victims and draped an Israeli flag over the Palestinian flag outside Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s (R-MI) Capitol Hill office.
“Shame on you,” he replied when they were taken down within five minutes.
Tlaib is the only Palestinian American in Congress and is an outspoken critic of Israel. She was censured by the House last month for her rhetoric about the Israel-Hamas war.
Yoseph Haddad tweeted his act of protest, saying, “This is what happened when I got to hang the posters of the hostages on the door of Rashida Tlaib’s office…”
The video was presented in English with Hebrew subtitles.
“Those kids were kidnapped by Hamas,” Haddad said, holding up flyers of the children’s faces. “And Rashida Tlaib doesn’t say anything? Anything? Seriously? So, here, I’m putting the flyer for her in order to make sure that she doesn’t forget that we have kidnapped Israelis in Gaza, kidnapped by Hamas. And if English doesn’t…change her mind, maybe the Arabic one will make her change her mind,” Haddad said while pinning the flyers on a board outside the closed door of Tlaib’s office.
“You want to free the Palestinians? Free the Palestinians from the terrorist organization Hamas,” he said.
Haddad then produced an Israeli flag and draped it over the Palestinian flag hanging outside Tlaib’s office.
“I really hope she doesn’t take this down,” he said while pointing to the flyers of kidnapped children.
The video then cut to “five minutes later,” when Haddad returned to the office.
“Unbelievable. You see, as expected, they took the flyers down. And literally, five minutes gone,” Haddad said, adding, “Shame on you, Rashida Tlaib.”
Tlaib’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
