‘Was It Uncomfortable Up There?’ Laura Ingraham Asks Tim Scott About Standing Behind Trump While He Blasted Old Friend Nikki Haley

Fox News host Laura Ingraham asked Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) how he felt while standing behind Donald Trump while the former president trashed the person who launched Scott’s Senate career.

After winning the New Hampshire Republican primary on Tuesday night, Trump did a victory lap in front of supporters in Nashua. Behind him was Scott, a former presidential candidate who dropped out and endorsed Trump over former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley. It was Haley who put Scott in the Senate by appointing him to the seat left vacant by Jim DeMint in 2012.

During Trump’s speech, the Republican frontrunner told Scott, “You must really hate her.” Scott replied, “I just love you.” Trump also made an offhand comment about the dress Haley wore while giving her speech to supporters earlier in the evening.

Appearing on Wednesday’s edition of The Ingraham Angle, Scott was asked about his evening.

“Was it uncomfortable up there?” Ingraham asked. “Nikki Haley’s your buddy. These things are uncomfortable. You’re sitting up there and he’s pretty tough on her last night. I mean, it was pretty tough. The dress, I probably wouldn’t have recommended that he go after the dress. I mean, that’s Trump. But was it uncomfortable for you because of your friendship with her?”

“Listen, she served our state well as a conservative governor,” Scott responded. “She has decided to be a moderate Republican presidential candidate.”

Scott proceeded to criticize Haley on the issues of Social Security and funding for Ukraine’s defensive war against Russia.
