On Meet the Press, Omarosa Says She Was ‘Complicit With This White House Deceiving This Nation’

Omarosa Manigault made her first big TV appearance of her book tour on Meet the Press this morning, and Chuck Todd started with this serious allegation of President Donald Trump saying the N-word on tape.

Manigault writes in her book that she heard people describe the tape, but claimed to Todd that since writing it she actually “heard his voice as clear as you and I are sitting here” saying it.

“Once I heard it for myself, it was confirmed what I feared the most: that Donald Trump is a con and has been masquerading as someone who is actually open to engaging with diverse communities,” she continued, saying the tape confirms he is “truly a racist.”

She said Trump never said the word in her presence, but when Todd asked her if he ever said it about her, she said, “Possibly.”

Todd brought up her past defenses of Trump, particularly on the idea of him being a racist. And Manigault admitted that she was “complicit”:

“Being used by Donald Trump for so long, I was like the frog in the hot water. You don’t know that you’re in that situation until it’s just bubbling and bubbling… I was complicit with this White House deceiving this nation. They continue to deceive this nation by how mentally declined he is, how difficult it is for him to process complex information, how he has not engaged in some of the most important decisions that impact our country.”
