‘Huge Fan’: ESPN’s Mina Kimes Salutes ‘Mad Dog’ Russo, Then Absolutely Cuts Him to Ribbons Over His NFL List

ESPN analyst Mina Kimes couldn’t hold back her disgust in response to an NFL list made by Chris “Mad Dog” Russo on First Take.

Though Russo normally appears once a week each Wednesday, he filled on for Stephen A. Smith on Thursday. Near the end of the episode, he did a segment about teams that could threaten the Kansas City Chiefs as they look to win their third Super Bowl in a row.

Russo’s top five teams, from fifth to first, were as follows: San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns, Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills, Detroit Lions.

When asked to give her assessment of the list, Kimes started by saying some nice things about Russo before completely ripping it to shreds.

“Chris, great to meet you,” Kimes said. “First time, long time huge fan. This is one of the worst lists I’ve ever seen.”

Russo’s jaw dropped immediately, but Kimes pressed on.

“The most egregious choice was putting the 49ers at no. 5 for no football reasons unless I missed something,” she said. “In fact, the point that you made was that they’ve lost to the Chiefs — because they made it to the Super Bowl and they’re largely returning the exact same team that was so dominant during the regular season that they got to the Super Bowl in the first place.”

Just as egregious, Kimes added, was the fact that the Browns were on the list but not the Houston Texans — the team that beat them in the playoffs thanks to a stellar performance from rookie quarterback CJ Stroud.
