Actor Who Was Stripped, Beaten and Kidnapped Before Viral Arrest Video Speaks Out to GMA
The survivor of a bizarre kidnapping spoke to Good Morning America Monday about his ordeal.
Actor Joseph Capone was pistol-whipped, dragged into a car, and then thrown into a bathroom and held hostage there with no food, no clothing and no lights on for 30 hours.
Capone was kidnapped along with actress Daisy McCrackin from her home, and one of the alleged kidnappers, Johntae Jones, appeared to have known McCrackin in some capacity.
“My spidey sense was kind of tingling,” Capone explained of Jones. “It felt weird. It felt like something was off.”
While Capone was held hostage in the bathroom, McCrackin was being driven to different ATMs withdrawing money and was forced to write a $10,000 check for Capone’s release.
“They said things like ‘if she doesn’t come through, man, I don’t know what I’m going to have to do,'” Capone explained to GMA.
The suspected kidnappers were arrested on the streets of LA in a now viral video.
“I’m not a victim. I’m a survivor,” Capone said of the harrowing experience. “You know, I think it’s a state of mind. Yeah, that happened but what’s tomorrow?”
