Mike Johnson Reportedly Loses It on Republican Rebels: ‘I’m Sick of This’

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) reportedly lost his cool with his fellow Republicans, blurting out, “I’m sick of this sh*t!” during a closed-door meeting as a few members of his party clashed over a recent veterans bill, according to a report.

The atypical moment for the usually calm speaker came as members of Congress clashed over a bipartisan veterans bill, including Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL), who was against the legislation, and Rep. Zach Nunn (R-IA), who backed it.

When Luna allegedly grew angry with the speaker, he blew his top, according to NOTUS, which cited “multiple sources in the room.”

Johnson quickly apologized to Luna, and after the outburst, he made a point of facing the school-aged son of Rep. Gabe Evans (R-CO), who saw the whole episode, to apologize for the profanity, the outlet reported.

He then pulled the bill from the House floor, and later said the Take Care of America’s Veterans Act could be delayed “for weeks,” according to the Military Times.

Republicans hold a slim majority in the House of Representatives, and several sources told NOTUS the party’s inability to get anything done has frustrated many on Capitol Hill.

“The Republican conference is a diverse gathering of people, some of whom are really effective at getting things done and others who are more interested in knocking things down,” Rep. Dusty Johnson (R-SD) told the outlet.

Rep. Carlos Gimenez (R-FL) said most House members are “team players who do not appreciate the minority, the small minority, that does that,” meaning those who have repeatedly blocked legislation.

“I don’t appreciate it, but we live in that reality that they can leverage it. So there are the vast majority of us who don’t like that. We’re team players.”

“It’s the hardcore conservatives against everybody else,” Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tennessee) added.

Johnson’s office could not immediately be reached for comment.
