Brian Kilmeade Shreds Mayor Pete For Attacking Carlson, Ingraham in Fox Town Hall: ‘Absolutely No Courage’
At Fox News, great pains are undertaken to separate the networks hard news figures like Shepard Smith and Chris Wallace from opinion hosts like Sean Hannity and Jeanine Pirro. But one personality who falls in the latter category appears to be taking more of an all-for-one, one-for-all mentality — rather than keep the news and opinion camps separate.
Speaking on Fox & Friends Monday, Brian Kilmeade ripped South Bend, IN Mayor Pete Buttigieg for attacking Fox opinion hosts while appearing at a town hall hosted by hard news anchor Chris Wallace. In Kilmeade’s apparent view, criticism of Fox News opinion programming is not fair game from a person who is willing to appear on the network’s news offerings, but not the opinion shows.
“Don’t hop on our channel and continue to put down the other hosts on the channel, or the channel,” Kilmeade said. “If you feel that negative about it, don’t come. Because for him to go out there and take shots at our primetime lineup without going on our primetime lineup shows, to me, absolutely no courage.”
Buttigieg, specifically, called out Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingraham for some of their more controversial comments.
“I mean, when you’ve got Tucker Carlson saying that immigrants make America dirty. When you’ve got Laura Ingraham comparing detention centers with children in cages to summer camps…” Buttigieg said. He added, “Summer camps. There is a reason why anybody has to swallow hard and think twice before participating in this media ecosystem.”
