CNN Panel Derails Over Trump’s ‘Violence’ Remarks, Antifa: ‘I’m Not Going To Let You Filibuster!’

On Tuesday night, things got a bit out of hand during a CNN panel on President Donald Trump‘s recent remarks invoking violence that would take place if Democrats took control over the House this November.

At a dinner with evangelical leaders, the president said the following:

“It’s not a question of like or dislike, it’s a question that they will overturn everything that we’ve done and they will do it quickly and violently. And violently. There is violence. When you look at Antifa- these are violent people.”

Pro-Trump commentator Steve Cortes told CNN’s Don Lemon that he was “puzzled” by Trump’s remarks and expressed that he didn’t understand why such violence would take place if Democrats won in the midterms. However, he did agree with the president’s sentiment on Antifa and slammed the mainstream media for only caring about violence that comes from the political right.

Well, his liberal colleague Angela Rye wasn’t exactly satisfied with Cortes’s commentary.

“Wow, I guess I would love to hear from Steve how many Antifa incidences is he aware of,” Rye reacted. “How many incidences do you know about, Steve?”

After a brief pause, Cortes began to list Antifa’s violent outbursts, but Rye immediately told him she didn’t want a “list.” And that simply led to them talking over each other.

“Let me help you because I’m not going to let you filibuster,” Rye told Cortes.

“Well don’t ask me the question if you don’t want to hear the answer, Angela!” Cortes exclaimed.

“I’m sorry that you didn’t want to answer the way that I hoped you would, which was honestly and that was with a number,” she shot back.

“Yeah, that I answer the way you want,” Cortes reacted. “That’s how the left operates, isn’t it? If I answer the way you want, you’re tolerant of my view. Otherwise, you’re not tolerant. Because that’s liberal intolerance.”

Rye then insisted that Trump “consistently urges violence” and “consistently trolls women of color on Twitter” and told Cortes he should “chin-check” the president instead of going after their favorite “boogeyman” Antifa.
