On Friday night, Bill Maher kicked off the panel by discussing the newly-released GOP memo.
The Real Time host hypothesized that the reason why congressional Republicans are so focused on the memo is because they know Special Counsel Robert Mueller “has a lot,” which is leaving them “very worried.”
“This is Donald Trump!” Maher exclaimed. “Think about Donald Trump! It’s always worse than you can imagine… and you imagine the worst!”
The Atlantic senior editor David Frum mocked Trump and Republicans for not having a “high-quality, artisanal obstruction of justice” and that the memo is “mass-produced junk.”
“If they could just get a higher quality of an obstructor, I think we could have a higher quality discussion,” Frum continued.
Former DNC chairwoman Donna Brazile agreed, adding that the entire memo “is all bullsh*t.”
“Bill, don’t read this,” Brazile said of the physical copy of the memo she had in her hands. “Get a People Magazine. Get Instyle. In fact, get Ebony and go to the bathroom.”
Brazile called the memo a “weaponization of classified information” and blasted Trump for “going after” the FBI “tweet by tweet by tweet by tweet.”
“He’s undermining their effectiveness,” Brazile elaborated. “He’s weakening them at a time which we need our federal agencies to be strong.”
Maher then listed the Republicans involved in the Russia investigation that Trump has attacked including Mueller, James Comey, Rod Rosenstein, and “80%” of the FISA court.
“Since when have they been a hotbed of liberals?!?” Maher asked.
